PEACE COLLEGE

The Peace College seminar exists for equipping long-term Christian practitioners in Christian-Muslim relations who live and serve amongst Muslims. This intensive seminar – designed for mid-career leaders – provides participants with resources they need for being faithful witnesses to the love of Jesus Christ through expert training, coaching and consulting.

Peace College organizers strategically select outstanding expert scholar-practitioners to deliver specialized content each year in one or two areas of critical expertise. These advanced-level, practical lectures comprise half of the content portion of the seminar. The other half is peer-to-peer based, as participants write and present practical papers related to their own work in Christian-Muslim relations, and they then receive constructive feedback from other participants and from seminar leaders.

Students enjoy the fellowship that comes through being challenged together intellectually and academically while also taking advantage of some downtime to explore local sites. In 2023 participants visited the Alhambra in Grenada, Spain, many of whom experienced the grandeur of this World Heritage Site for the first time.

In order to qualify for participation in the Peace College seminar, participants must normally fulfill three criteria (though some exceptions are made): 1) have lived in a Muslim-majority context for at least six years being active in Muslim-Christian relations, 2) speak fluently the heart language of the Muslim-majority people among whom they live, and 3) are in some sort of leadership role (whether or not that is recognized by a formal title).
