The Al-Azhar seminar in Cairo provides a unique opportunity for Christians (and others) to learn – in English – about Islamic beliefs and practices directly from outstanding Muslim scholars at this world-leading center of Islamic scholarship.

Participants in the Al-Azhar seminar benefit from live interaction with these prominent Muslim scholars, including Sheikh Prof. Dr. Hassan Al-Shāfiʿī and others. The Al-Azhar staff dedicated to this seminar organize a diverse group of lecturers delivering expert content who are also prepared to engage in dialogue with the students. The seminar also includes classroom hours with Dr. Joseph Cumming and other Christian scholars that help provide background information for the Al-Azhar lectures and Christian reflection on what students are learning.

Students also enjoy experiencing everyday life in Cairo visiting important cultural and religious landmarks like the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Al-Azhar Mosque, amongst others throughout the Greater Cairo Region.
